It can be difficult and frustrating to find the correct way to learn how to grow a vegetable garden! Which is why I created Our Stoney Acres. I wanted one simple place that you can come to and find all that you need to know about how to grow an organic garden.
When I was learning I wanted a place where I could go to get answers to my questions. How do I deal with pests, what can I do to make my soil better, why aren’t my tomatoes ripening? These are the types of questions you will find answers to on our site.
Growing organically isn’t easy, but it is so full of rewards! Nothing is better than a perfectly ripe tomato eaten straight from the garden or a fresh-picked spinach salad, cut from your cold frame in the middle of winter. One taste and you will be hooked to gardening too!
About Me
Hi there I’m Rick Stone and I’m a gardening fanatic! Over the last 25 years, I’ve grown a large garden at my home and it seems like every year that garden gets a little larger! I grow all of my own seedlings and we have learned how to extend our garden harvest to 365 days a year. Growing in cold frames and hoop houses is the key!! I’m a graduate of the Utah State University Master Gardener program and have been teaching classes for many years on gardening basics and year-round gardening. For the last 5 years, I have been teaching courses online to nearly 6000 students. Come join me and you will learn everything you need to know to have a successful garden!!
